Essex Effect
Our annual magazine for alumni started over 15 years ago to keep former students in touch with the University. We now send it over 50,000 alumni worldwide – and you can choose to get it by post or online.

Essex Extra
Essex Extra is our e-newsletter of alumni updates and news, University news and a calendar of events for your diary. More than 27,000 alumni already receive it every two months.
Impact report
We produce our annual impact report to show how your support is making a big difference in areas which have a real impact on the lives of our students and the future of the University.
The highlights of our achievements during the 2011-12 academic year include:
- support for around 4,000 students in sports clubs and student societies;
- £3,000 of upgrades to student-focused services including the Multi-Faith Chaplaincy Centre; and
- arts and cultural events which benefit an estimated 2,000 students and members of the local community.
