Nominations for this year’s sports awards are currently closed. Please check at a later date. 

Eligibility

Nominees must be an alumnus/a of the University of Essex. Study Abroad, Kaplan Singapore, Edge Hotel School and University of Essex Online graduates are all considered alumni of the University of Essex.

Selection criteria

The selection panel will look for alumni who are worthy of special recognition through one or more of the following criteria:

• A significant success participating in sport as an individual or as part of a team.
• A significant success as a coach.
• A positive impact within the local, or wider community.
• Supporting a sport through fundraising or volunteering initiatives.

Selection panel

The selection panel will consist of the Alumni Sports Weekend planning group.

If there are no nominees considered of sufficient merit in any year, the Selection Panel may choose not to make an award. In the event of a successful nominee declining to accept the award the Selection Panel may choose, but is not obliged to offer a further award.

Nomination process

Nominations can be made by alumni or the general public.

Any nominators will be contacted by the Alumni Relations Team should the nominee be selected for the award. In this instance, although the information you provide will be treated as confidential, some may be used in citation in promotion of the award.
