2013 Telephone campaign

Our annual telephone campaign recently came to an end, with over 100 alumni contributing to a record breaking total of £12,265. Thank you so much to everyone that gave a donation or set up a direct debit instructions – your gift makes a huge difference to our students.

Even if you weren’t able to give a gift on this occasion, we would still like to thank you for taking the time to chat on the telephone during the campaign. Our team of student callers have all come away from the campaign with great stories and advice from our graduates – and excited about the prospect of one day joining them in our vibrant alumni community.

The Essex Fund telephone campaign has been running for over eleven years. In that time, we have raised over half a million pounds towards much needed scholarships and projects that enhance the student experience for current students across our three campuses. In the last year, the Essex Fund gave new equipment to 12 sports club and societies, helping them increase their membership and compete at a higher standard. The fund also helped, amongst other departmental projects, a team of Human Rights students compete in the final of the European Human Rights Moot Court competition, where they finished second.

We really value the opportunity to connect with our alumni during the telephone campaign. It means we can update your details on our database, let you know about upcoming events like our 50th Anniversary programme, and even help recent graduates find paid internships. Most importantly, it helps us strengthen our relationship with you, our amazing alumni. You are lifetime members of Essex, and we hope that through our telephone campaign you will continue to play an active role in our community all your life.

Thank you to the following local companies for supporting this year’s campaign by donating prizes for our callers:
