Your support in action

These are just a few examples of how our alumni and other supporters have helped to enrich the lives of students at Essex:

In 2010

• your generosity meant we could give the Students’ Union £15,000 for a new disabled access minibus.

In 2011

• a £10,000 grant to the Student Union Advice Centre established the Essex Fund Hardship Loans for students in financial difficulty.

In 2012

• we marked the year of the Olympics with a £5,000 grant for Sports Scholarships, helping our top athletes with coaching, physiotherapy and the costs of competition and training

In 2013

• we sent a team of Human Rights students to the European Moot Court Competition, where they came 2nd.

In 2014 you helped

• build a state-of-the-art audio drama recording studio in the Lakeside Theatre

• fund vocational study for history students at the Bourne Mill restoration project

• provide £13,000 of new Sports equipment, including a new trampoline, new lacrosse goals and new hockey goalkeeping kit
